Advent Lunch - 2006 Our seventh Advent lunch was held as usual in the St Paul's Club. The speaker was the Very Rev. Peter Berry, Provost Emeritus of Birmingham, and former Chaplain to the Society, who spoke to a packed dining room about the season of Advent. We were pleased to welcome James Newton, Chairman of Council of The Royal Society of St George as our principal guest, at what was the last event in our 60th Anniversary year. James was elected Chairman of the Society following the AGM at Bristol in May 2006. During the lunch, James Newton presented Mr Ken Wilkinson, a former RAF "Battle of Britain" pilot, with a certificate conferring honorary membership of the Society. | |||||||

Garden Party for The Queen's 80th Birthday Our annual Garden Party was held at the University of Birmingham's own Botanic Garden - Winterbourne. Members and their guests enjoyed the splendid surroundings throughout the warm summer evening whilst listening to the Eureka Jazz Band. We were pleased to welcome the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of Birmingham, Cllr. and Mrs Mike Sharpe as our principal guests. | ||
